FAQs

Questions & Answers

Why should I have my skis or snowboard serviced regularly?

For greater safety and maximum skiing enjoyment! Freshly sharpened edges give you optimum grip on icy slopes, reduce the effort required and ensure precise steering. A waxed base allows the skis to glide easily and protects the base from drying out.

What is the difference between the various service packages?

We offer 3 bespoke service levels:

Waxing: Belt waxing & polishing

Standard Service: Clean the base, micro-planing, sharpen edges to the optimum angle, wax and polish the base. Perfect for a quick refresh now and then.

Top Service: Includes repairing deep scratches and grooves in the base through base reconditioning, edge sharpening, micro-planing, as well as hot waxing and polishing. Ideal before the first day of skiing of the season.

How long does a ski service take?

Overnight service: Drop off your skis or snowboard by 17:00 and collect them the next morning from 08:00, perfectly prepared.

Express service: In urgent cases, we can get your equipment back on the slopes within a maximum of 1 hour.

Do I need to book an appointment for the ski service?

No, you don’t need to book in advance. You can simply drop off your items during our opening hours.

Do you also carry out a safety check on the ski bindings?

Yes, absolutely! As well as our base and edge servicing, we offer a binding test in accordance with the ISO standard. This test checks whether the binding releases correctly in an emergency.

How often should I take my skis in for servicing?

As a rule of thumb:

Before the season: A thorough service ensures the perfect start.

During your holiday: After around 3–5 days on the slopes, a re-wax or a quick service won’t go amiss, especially on hard artificial snow.

After the season: A summer wax protects the edges from rust and the base from drying out whilst in storage.

How much does a ski service cost?
Do you also service children’s skis or cross-country skis?

Yes! We also offer a special service for children’s skis, snowboards and touring skis.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a service for cross-country skis.

Do you also offer binding fitting?

Yes, our staff will be happy to fit all types of bindings to your chosen skis.
